How do I buy a book on Bookshock?
Open the homepage and tell Tez what you’re looking for — title, author, ISBN, or just a description. Tez will surface every available copy across our marketplace and trusted partners. Pick the one you want and check out in chat. The whole purchase happens in the conversation.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) and Apple Pay / Google Pay through Stripe, our payment processor. We do not store your card details — everything is handled by Stripe’s PCI-compliant infrastructure.
Is my payment secure?
Yes. All payments are processed by Stripe, the same payment infrastructure used by companies like Amazon, Shopify, and Lyft. Your card number never touches Bookshock servers. The connection is encrypted with bank-level TLS, and we have a valid SSL certificate on every page.
Do you charge sales tax?
Sales tax is calculated at checkout based on the seller’s nexus and your shipping address, in compliance with U.S. state laws. The tax amount is shown before you confirm your order — no surprises.
Will I get a receipt?
Yes. You’ll receive an order confirmation email immediately after checkout, with itemized pricing, shipping address, and your unique order ID. A shipping confirmation with tracking follows when your order ships.
How long does shipping take?
Orders process in 1–3 business days and ship via USPS, UPS, DHL, or FedEx. Total delivery is typically 4–10 business days from order to doorstep. You’ll get tracking the moment your order ships. See the full Shipping Policy for details.
Is shipping really free?
Yes. Free standard shipping on every order to a U.S. address — no minimums, no handling fees. We can offer this because we work directly with carriers and absorb shipping cost as part of doing business.
Do you ship internationally?
Not yet. We currently ship to the 50 United States, D.C., and military APO/FPO addresses. International shipping is on our roadmap.
What if my package is lost or damaged?
Contact us. If your package is marked delivered but missing, please wait 48 hours and then chat with Tez or email support@bookshock.ai — we’ll work with the carrier and either send a replacement or issue a refund. Damaged or wrong items are handled the same way, with photo verification.
What is your return policy?
Bookshock has a 30-day free return policy. If you’re not happy with your book for any reason, return it within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We even cover the return shipping. See the full Return Policy for specifics.
How do I start a return?
The easiest way: open the homepage chat and say “I want to return my order.” Tez will verify eligibility, generate a prepaid return shipping label, and email it to you instantly. Drop the package at any carrier location. You can also email support@bookshock.ai to start a return.
When will I get my refund?
Refunds process within 5–10 business days of us receiving your returned book. Refunds are issued to your original payment method. Depending on your bank, the credit may take an additional 3–5 business days to appear on your statement.
What is Tez?
Tez is our AI book concierge. Tez can find books by description, compare prices across 50+ sources (including competitors), help you check out, look up order status, initiate returns, and answer most account questions — all in a single chat. Tez is built on AWS Bedrock and trained specifically for books.
Is Tez always available?
Yes, 24/7. Tez never sleeps. For things Tez can’t handle, a real human on our team will reply by email within one business day.
Why does Tez sometimes recommend a book from a competitor?
Because honest pricing is the foundation of trust. We’d rather earn your repeat business by showing you the best deal — even when it’s not on our marketplace — than trick you into overpaying. When Bookshock has the best price, Tez will say so. When a competitor does, Tez will tell you that too.
Do I need an account to buy?
You don’t need an account to browse, but you do need to be signed in to check out. Creating an account is free and takes about 20 seconds. You can sign in with email, Google, Apple, or Amazon.
How do I update my address or password?
Sign in, click the menu icon in the top right of the homepage, and choose “Account.” You can update your addresses, change your password, view past orders, and manage your subscriptions from there.
How do I delete my account?
Email support@bookshock.ai from the email address on the account, or chat with Tez. We’ll process the deletion within 7 days and confirm by email. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.
Can I sell my books on Bookshock?
Yes. We accept independent booksellers, collectors, libraries with surplus inventory, and small bookshops. Register at seller.bookshock.ai/register. The full seller agreement is published openly — review before you apply.
What are the seller fees?
We charge a competitive commission on each sale (varies by plan tier) and Stripe’s standard payment processing fee (2.9% + $0.30). There are no listing fees, no monthly minimums on the standard plan, and no platform transaction fees beyond Stripe’s. Premium and Pro plans unlock higher listing limits and lower commission rates.
